"Brian Mullin note: Looking at the "what slows the plane down?" problem from a different angle. When a plane is flying due north or south, the rotation of the earth would be decreasing or increasing as it flies through the air. Why don't pilots have to compensate for this? Note that one Sidereal Day is 23 hours and 56 minutes, I said 96 minutes in the video."
