3 suspects tracked by police helicopter, arrested following vehicle pursuit in Nobleton

A man, woman and a teenage boy were arrested after York Regional Police used its helicopter to track them down.

Just before 3 a.m. on April 8, a patrol officer saw an idling vehicle with no front plate in Nobleton. The officer approached the vehicle to investigate, but the driver sped away, travelling south on Hwy. 27, police said.

Officers in Air2, the police helicopter, tracked the suspect vehicle from above.

Officers on the ground were able to position and deploy a tire deflation device, which disabled the passing suspect vehicle.

Three suspects allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran in different directions. Officers were able to find and arrest all three with help from the canine unit, according to police.

Officers seized several master keys for vehicles.

Zoe Korn, 22, of Quebec, was charged with possession of an automobile master key, conspiracy to commit an indictable offense, flight from a peace officer, escape lawful custody and breach of probation.

Ibrahima Traore, 18, of Quebec, was charged with possession of an automobile master key and failure to comply with an undertaking.

A 17-year-old boy from Stratford was charged with possession of an automobile master key and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense.

Korn and Traore were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court on May 5. The teenaged boy is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
