Patrick McCaughey sentenced...with testimony saying he was at the front of the crowd that resulted Capitol Police officer Daniel Hodges being assaulted.

Judge Trevor McFadden described the assault as among the "most dangerous and violent clashes with police" and that McCaughey's actions amounted to "some of the most egregious crimes committed on that day."

This account of events is in stark contrast to other accounts of January 6th who saw a more peaceful crowd.
