Florida lawmakers pass bill to end unanimous jury vote for death penalty

The Florida House passed a bill Thursday that would no longer require a unanimous jury recommendation for the death penalty. The legislation, passed by the State Senate last month, will instead require a minimum of eight jurors to recommend execution. Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to sign off on the bill.
