Gale Racer is a racing video game developed by Sega for the Sega Saturn in 1994. The game features arcade-style gameplay, with the player racing against other cars on a variety of tracks set in different locations around the world. Gale Racer includes a variety of race modes, including championship and time trial, and features a wide selection of cars and customization options. Review:-

I’m not sure if this game is proper 3D like the arcade racers of this era. It feels like an older generation title where they use sprites for the tracks and move them forward to make a 3D effect. The opposition cars use polygons, but your own car doesn’t. The draw distance is ridiculous too as you only see a few metres in front of you and the rest of the track is just invisible. It looks quite dated for the time. The game follows a similar mechanic to Sega Rally, where you start at the back and every race you do, gradually moves you in higher positions until you hopefully get to 1st spot by the end race. There are a lot of races but the whole game is less than 30 minutes. I thought this was crazy until I realised that Sega rally takes about 4 minutes to complete. Although in Sega rally you do need to practise. I was able to do this on my first go.
It's an OK game. Nothing special. But not bad.
