Firing Squads - Florida Carry
On Friday, Gov. Brad Little signed HB 186 The bill would allow the use of the firing squad when lethal injection isn't available.
The Associated Press reported that Mississippi, Utah, Oklahoma, and South Carolina also allow for the use of the firing squad. The AP added that the addition of executions by firing squad may become more prevalent as the US struggles with a shortage of drugs for lethal injections.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed new permitless carry bill. Here's what it means for you: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis quietly signed a new gun bill that eliminates licensing requirements to carry a concealed firearm in most public places.
The Florida Senate voted 27-13 last week on HB 543 and DeSantis signed it as quickly as he got it in a closed-door gathering with supporters, making Florida the 26th state that does not require a concealed weapons license.
FOX News broke the story about the signing 28 minutes before Florida reporters received a notice from the DeSantis press office that he had received the bill from the Legislature. What does Florida's concealed carry bill do?
The bills SB150/HB543 eliminate the need for a concealed weapons license, which required a mandatory background check and a firearms training course, before you can carry hidden weapons or firearms on your person or in a vehicle in Florida, provided you still meet other gun ownership requirements.
What is Lent?
Lent is the period of six weeks (40 days not including Sundays) leading up to Easter, the most important festival in the Christian calendar.
Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The last week of Lent is called Holy Week.
When is Lent?
In 2023 Lent begins on Wednesday 22 February and ends on Thursday 6 April.
Lent is an old English word meaning 'lengthen'. Lent is observed in spring, when the days begin to get longer.
What is the story of Lent?
Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray before beginning his work for God. Jesus was tempted several times by Satan, but was able to resist.
Lent allows Christians to remember Jesus's fasting in the desert. It is a time of giving things up and a test of self-discipline.
There are many foods that some Christians do not eat in Lent, such as meat and fish, fats, eggs, and milky foods. Some Christians just give up something they really enjoy, such as cakes or chocolate.
