3DS & GBA Parts & Mods from Handheld Legend

I recently shared how I had dropped my cell phone on my New Nintendo 3DS, breaking the bottom display. UGH! @!#?@! It turned out what I broke on my Launch Day New Nintendo 3DS XL was the bottom touch screen when trying to record today's YouTube Short. What happened? Gather round and I'll tell you.

I was preparing to film a #YouTubeShort talking about the 3DS eShop shutting down soon. As such, I was using my New 3DS XL to capture footage. I have a stand I use for portable monitors that I also use to hold my phone when I am shooting something like this, but being a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, it is a bit top-heavy. Normally, I'll wrap a rubber band around the bottom of the stand to keep my phone in place, but I didn't. Then it happened.

My phone slid off the top of the stand, catching the New 3DS XL with one of the edges of the phone case. I didn't think anything of it until I powered my system on. Then I saw it. The bottom screen was ruined, completely smashed and no longer functioning properly. I thought this was weird as the phone fell on the TOP screen, so the damage occurred through that screen and applied sudden pressure to the bottom screen. I am floored my top display is fine, but the bottom one is now ruined.

I reached out to the team over at Handheld Legends and asked if they had what I needed to repair my system. I've bought a few things from them in recent months and love what they offer. Sure enough, they had all the parts I needed to replace my display and other broken parts. But that's not all..

I recently have gotten into GBA SP Modding, and wanted to mod a standard Game Boy Advance with a new shell, IPS Display, new battery, and more. Well, they had all that and then some! So in addition to repairing our New Nintendo 3DS, we'll be modding our Game Boy Advance as well!! This is going to be awesome!
