Opinion: The Fed is partly to blame for inflation

The Fed is at least partly to blame for our inflationary woes as it printed trillions and trillions of dollars
How did no one think this would have caused inflationary pressure? The runaway inflation that we all have suffered since end of the pandemic was always going to happen given the combination of Biden and Fed policy.
Remember how Jerome Powell called inflation transitory? Then, his response was to rapidly hike rates, much too late I might add. He should have begun months earlier. Now the banking sector is like a pressure cooker ready to blow. It really irritates me how Janet Yellen characterizes the banking sector as strong and robust. The Fed has done a horrible job in the last few years, and they are creating significant turmoil in the market. While most republicans blame inflation solely on Biden, let’s be intellectually honest, the Fed played a part for sure. The Fed created the inflationary pressure that caused it to have to react so aggressively.
As the WSJ states, “most political critics of the Fed today warn about rising rates, but they ignore the monetary cause and effect.”
