Warzone 2.0 Season 3 launched with some controversial content. Players are slamming Activision on social media for introducing pay-to-win elements into the game.

Season 3 patch notes reveal "certain" bundles with additional Active Duty Operator Slots available in the store. The only way to get more than the default 3 slots is by purchasing the Bomb Squad bundle, which includes other perks giving paying players an unfair advantage.

The bundle has a skin upgrading the player's backpack capacity, and data miners have discovered a future bundle letting players start with a UAV. Players are urging others not to buy these bundles to try and keep the playing field level in DMZ mode.

This new direction is worrying fans about the future of DMZ, as Activision may add even more pay-to-win bundles in later updates. They've faced backlash before, like when they were selling an all-black cosmetic suit in Season 1 of Warzone 2.0, which they did end up eventually updating for better visibility.
