WATCH: How You Could Win $15,000 at the San Angelo Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX – This year at the 91st annual San Angelo Rodeo you could win $15,000 thanks to the rodeo's new 50/50 raffle.

Yes for the majority gambling is illegal in Texas but large professional sports programs, like the Dallas Cowboys or the San Angelo Rodeo, are allowed to hold 50/50 raffles. For those that don't know, 50/50 raffles are won by a single ticket holder.

50 percent of the pot will go to the winner while the other 50 percent will be donated. In this case the 50 percent donated will be given to the San Angelo Rodeo Foundation. This foundation is used to not only put on the rodeo but for scholarships for local kids.

As of the 9th performance of the San Angelo Rodeo the total was over $22,000. Brandon Wooten, the man running the raffle, says that he's thinking it'll get over $30,000. Tickets are just $5 a pop and anyone can win. 

To purchase a ticket catch a 50/50 raffle girl in the stands of the rodeo or visit the wine tent. Tickets can only be purchased via debit or credit card and you must be over 18 years of age to play.
