Although the government may say they are here to help the poor, its policies on inflation, minimum wage, unemployment, unions, and licensing requirements often harm the poor, violating the scriptural command found in 1 Timothy 5:18. We must focus on policies that promote production, making the poor more productive and allowing them to earn a fair wage.
