Layer Section (Galactic Attack) | Sega Saturn Playthrough (JPN) | Real hardware

This is a really unique shmup. You have 2 attacks. One is your main weapon and the other is a homing attack which you can lock onto enemies by moving the cursor that is in front of the weapon over. You can lock onto 8 enemies before releasing the attack.
There isn’t much in the way of weapon power ups. There is loads going on in the game at the same time.
I would criticise the difficulty. It doesn’t have much in the way of making the game easier. There are no difficulty or lives select options. There is one cheat to increase your continues from 4 to 8, which still doesn’t make the game easy. It should have at least been in the game settings and the cheat should have been for infinite continues so that people with normal human level skills could see the ending.
It took me lots of practise to be able to complete the game with 8 the continues cheat. I honestly felt like I played to my best too. I didn’t see much room for improvement as deaths can come from anywhere rather than particular sections which you can learn for next time.
There is a lot going on and the reflex levels that you need is steeper than most games.
If you can make it all the way through, you see a really good game. But I would never even attempt to go for a 4 continue run. That would take many, many more hours, if it’s even possible.
