UNSCRUPULOUS CHANCERS Preying On The Elderly, Tried To Charge 7-8 TIMES The Going Rate!

The story behind this job is another shocking example of rogue traders trying to take advantage of the elderly and vulnerable. This elderly gent contacted me after nearly being talked into having the area i've cleaned in this video for a ridiculously high price, way more than the going rate for a job like this.
Now the way I see it, each business is entitled to quote and charge what ever they feel is appropriate, as each business has there own costs, for example, bigger firms will be VAT registered, have business premises and staff to pay, as opposed to a sole trader, working on their own, with low outgoings. So obviously prices can vary, sometimes significantly.
I will readily admit, that if someone phoned me, along with 2-3 other similar businesses in my area, I very much doubt i'd be one of the cheapest. But, most of us are within a ball park figure of a few hundred pounds. This chancer was trying to push the customer into paying many, many thousands more than a job like this is worth. As the title says - Shocking
My customer said he was being told he needed things that he didn't ask for, or want, and that they were the cheapest he would find, and was making all sorts of empty promises for the job to be accepted. Luckily my customer picked up in this, said no, and asked him to leave, to which the guy reluctantly did.

Having found me online, and after watching some of my videos on YouTube, that showed me, and explained in the description that I had helped others save money, or restore their faith in tradesmen, my customer got in touch, and accepted my quote almost instantly.

Really glad to have helped this lovely guy and his wife out. He asked to stay anonymous, which is why I haven't shown his face in the video, or mentioned his name.
