This was a roof cleaning job carried out about a month a go when the weather was still warm here in the UK. I was contacted by a retired couple, that had slightly jumped the gun in thinking that their roof tiles would need replacing. They incorrectly assumed that all that moss and lichen growth meant that their tiles were close to the end of their life, they were also tired of constantly having blocked gutters on that side, and constantly having to pick out pieces of moss that had fallen from the roof onto their gravel driveway

They told me that before finding me online, they weren't even aware that roof cleaning was a "thing" and had been contacting different roofing companies, and getting quotes for many, many thousands just to replace the tiles on that side of the roof. The prices they were getting were simply too much for them to afford, and would have taken a huge chunk out of their retirement fund. This, understandably was causing them a lot of distress and worry.

Fortunately I was able to reassure them that their roof tiles were concrete Marley's, that are tough as old boots, and still had plenty of life left in them, they just needed a good clean, plus treatment, and this would cost them a fraction of what they were getting quoted to replace the tiles. So the job was accepted.
