Classic 1984 GL1200 S GoldWing

The classic GL1200 ‘S’ (‘Standard’ model) GoldWing came from Honda undressed/naked (no fairing, no saddlebags, no trunk). The nimble ‘Standards’ were the rare GoldWings as most purchasers wanted the full dressed (and much heavier) ‘Aspencade’ and ‘Interstate’ varieties. Considering that 1984 was the FINAL year Honda produced the naked ‘Standard’ GoldWings, and was also the FIRST year for the Honda 1200 engine (it replaced the 1100), the ‘84 Honda GL1200 ‘S’ is a ONE-YEAR-ONLY classic GoldWing which makes it one of the most rare.

This one is 39 years old at the time this video was shot and uploaded. It is in pristine museum condition and only has 32,750 miles on the odo! It’s also my daily rider. I purchased the bike 6 months ago and have put 3,000 miles on it since, so the bike is now finally enjoying life doing what is was built to do — RIDE! And it rides and runs as good as it looks.
