40 Tracks of Jazz Rock /Fusion. This has been a pleasure to compose.
The biggest challenge in this song is most likely the Drum part.
It took me some time to write out a drum part that would fit the vibe
Of this song. The bass needed to be very tight and it has that funk factor
Because it is very rhythmic. A mix with traditional Piano/Rhoads and Synthesizer
Complement the entire song. The Drum solo was written out to begin with in my mind
Later on, I started to rehears the Solo and to my surprise it did not take that long to capture.
The 3 drummers that inspired me to think and play in this way are, Dennis Chambers
Simon Phillips and Larnell Lewis. Larnall Lewis in particular with the 4 stroke drum rolls
I’m still practicing this technique and try to improve each time I compose a new song.
