Interest Rates Rose. Insurance Premiums Increased. Property Taxes Will Continue to Go Up. Home Prices are unaffordable and now we have Homeowners who recently purchased their properties back in 2022 that are actually Underwater with their Mortgage. You may ask "What Does Underwater Really Mean"? When a home is underwater, the mortgage is worth more than the actual property value. If you need to sell, add closing costs and commission to the equation and the numbers simply do not add up. This is what happens when Buyers acquire at the peak of the Housing Market, with low down payment lending programs, just as the Housing Market is turning in the opposite direction. It will only get worse.
