The Shelby County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to re-appoint Justin Pearson to his previous seat as interim representative in the Tennessee House. Rep. Pearson was one of two lawmakers expelled last Thursday for participating in a gun reform protest on the chamber’s floors. Before heading into the meeting with the Board, Rep. Pearson led a march with demonstrators from Memphis’ National Civil Rights Museum to the county commission’s office.
