What are we doing: Always present an overview with objectives
Why do you care? Present the logical reasons as well as the compassionate reasons (how it could help others)
Lesson Presentation
Present material in written form before the lecture
Ask for at least one question from each student before the lecture
Provide thinking breaks during the lecture/lesson when synchronous
Call on particular students
Use interactive technology when possible (skeleton, science lab)
Provide opportunities for kinesthetic learners to manipulate the information (research and teach a section, apply it to situations they know, write quizzes, do it (developmental psych, laundry), breakout discussion groups, forum discussion posts)
Gamify it whenever possible (Jeopardy, Taboo, Family Feud, Pictionary, Trivial pursuit)
