Tarantula CANNIBALISM! Why Do They Do It?

This week we look into one of the darker aspects of keeping and breeding tarantulas... CANNIBALISM. Cannibalism is a part of nature and is something nearly every species participates at some point, given the circumstances, and this includes humans. While we find it morally reprehensible, there is actually reasons behind the madness and in some instances, it can actually be beneficial for the individual tarantula and the species as a whole. So let's take a look at this disturbing behaviors, discover why a tarantula might eat another tarantula, and what risks and benefits this behavior presents to our pet spiders.
