This shocking footage shows firefighters battling a raging inferno that engulfed an entire house and demonstrates the dangers first responders face daily.

Body-cam footage obtained by Newsflash from the Fort Smith Fire Department shows firemen trying to put out a massive house fire in Fort Smith, in the US State of Arkansas.

The footage captures the challenges and risks firefighters face almost every single day, which often go unnoticed by the public.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the fire.

However, the video highlights the increased risk of cancer among firefighters.

In 2022, the International Association of Firefighters added 469 names to their memorial wall, with 348 of them succumbing to occupational cancer.

First responders are 14 per cent more likely to die from cancer than the general population, according to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.

Many fire departments across the country have adopted protective uniforms, decon buckets for cleaning, and exhaust vents in their stations to mitigate these risks.
