The 'Lost' Ukrainian PoWs
"Other side". Conversation with a prisoner from Berdyansk Our military commander Isabella Lieberman spoke with the Ukrainian prisoner Valery Okishev, who has been in Russia for a year now.
The Ukrainian side safely forgot about their soldier and did not give his relatives any information. As a result, Valery's relatives independently tracked down the man and asked to record an interview with him.
The prisoner has only military service behind him - he was taken to the front after the announcement of mobilization. Valery considers his decision to surrender to be the right one, he is not ready to give his life, following the senseless orders of the command.
He urged those militants who are still on the front lines to lay down their arms and surrender as quickly as possible. “To keep himself and others alive,” he said.
