You know how we all just love scrolling through social media and watching funny videos or news about Trump? Well, while we're doing that, Wall Street is quietly buying up people's homes! Yup, you heard that right. Already, they're projected to own 40% of single-family rental homes by 2030, making it even harder for regular folks to own their own homes. Here’s a hot take from a real estate agent who got bulldozed by a real estate company’s unlimited money. (Vid: Big corporations buying up single family homes) There, some boots-on-the-ground information for you, guys. Have you guys been seeing the same thing in your area? Tell us a bit about it in the comments. It’s really going to boil down to people’s collective action to really put a stop to corporate greed and government control, am I right? I've been watching this happen in my neighborhood since 2008, and it's not fair. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't lose my house during the Great Recession, but so many others did. And you know what happened? The government sold off most of those homes to big companies like Progress and AHFR for next to nothing. These companies don't care about the communities they buy in. All they want is to squeeze as much money as possible out of their tenants. And when they dominate a market, they control the rent prices and even demand tax breaks from the city council. That's messed up, and they should be taxed way more than regular homeowners. I mean, have you seen the ridiculous things they make tenants do? Like, Progress Residential makes people responsible for fixing fences?
