TOPIC SYNOPSIS

“Birds aren’t real” is a conspiracy movement that claims the United State’s government systematically genocided 12 billion birds from 1959 to 2001 via biologically based destruction.

The movement further alleges that birds were replaced with robotic replicas that function as mass surveillance devices. The robotic replica birds allow the government to monitor and gather intelligence on the entire US population.

Allegedly, the birds aren’t real movement began in the 1970’s, but ultimately failed, their goal is to now spread awareness of the replica bird drones and wake up the public.

Adherents to the “birds aren’t real” movement refer to themselves the “Birds Brigade” or “Bird Truthers”. Some members travel the US in a van, spreading the message via word of mouth.
