Church makes a controversial change, replaces Robert E. Lee with Bishop Leontine Kelly

Her son, John Current, who was a senior pastor at the Hope United Methodist Church in San Francisco, spoke of her determination to rise within a male-dominated sphere, drawing strength and guidance from her faith in God.
