5.4 Supercharged Restomod 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Maintenance Video V8 Speed and Resto Shop V8TV

This very cool supercharged restomod 1967 Ford Mustang fastback was built using a great recipe for power and performance using the drivetrain from a 2008 5.4 liter Shelby GT500. It came to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for some repairs and maintenance, and we thought we’d share it with you in this latest “What are you in for” customer car profile from the shop.

The 1967 Mustang Fastback has been named the GT500SC by the graphics on the door in the Shelby style lower stripes. The Shelby GT500 supercharged 5.4 liter V8 makes over 500 horsepower, and it’s connected to a T56 6-speed transmission.

The front suspension has been upgraded with Ridetech tubular suspension components and a coilover shock system. Baer disc brakes on all 4 corners are displayed behind American Racing 200s “Daisy” wheels. A Ridetech 4-link coilover rear suspension incorporates a 9 inch rear axle assembly.

Inside, the Fastback Mustang features custom leather wrapped seats and a custom console, and the dash is loaded with Autometer gauges.

One of the coolest elements of this ‘67 Mustang Fastback is the exterior finish… the whole car is wrapped in vinyl film, and not painted. The choice was made to wrap the car so that a high-dollar paint job would not be risked on the road course, so the owner does not worry about driving this Mustang hard on the track!
