TOP TIPS FOR NEW MOMS IN DELIVERY
Congratulations on becoming a new mom! This is a very exciting and overwhelming time, especially if you are about to give birth. In this video, we will walk you through what to expect during delivery and provide you with tips and advice to help you through the process.
PREPARATION
Before heading to the hospital or birthing center, make sure you have packed your hospital bag with all the necessary items for you and your baby. This can include a change of clothes, toiletries, nursing pads, and a going-home outfit for your baby.
It is also important to have a birth plan in place. This plan outlines your preferences for the birthing process, such as pain management options, who you want in the delivery room, and any other special requests you may have. Share your birth plan with your healthcare provider and make sure your partner or support person is aware of it as well.
THE BIRTHING PROCESS
During the early stages of labor, you may experience mild contractions that gradually become stronger and more frequent. This is your body preparing for the birth of your baby. Once you are in active labor, your contractions will be stronger and closer together.
When you arrive at the hospital or birthing center, you will be checked to see how far along you are in the birthing process. Your healthcare provider will monitor your progress and may suggest pain management options such as an epidural or other medication.
As you approach delivery, you will be instructed to push during contractions to help your baby move down the birth canal. This can be a very intense and tiring process, but remember to breathe deeply and take breaks between contractions.
AFTER DELIVERY
Once your baby is born, you will experience a range of emotions, from joy and relief to exhaustion and overwhelm. Take your time to rest and bond with your baby, and don't be afraid to ask for help from your partner, family, or healthcare provider.
In the days and weeks following delivery, you may experience physical and emotional changes as your body adjusts to its new postpartum state. Be gentle with yourself and don't hesitate to reach out for support if you need it.
