Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek word of the day- μακροθυμία makrothymía, mak-roth-oo-mee'-ah; from the same as G3116; longanimity, i.e. (objectively) forbearance or (subjectively) fortitude:—longsuffering, patience.
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Matthew 21:18-43
Israel: The Withered Fig Tree- the fig tree is a symbol of prosperity and peace. It's withers because it's fruitless, this is prophetic towards the Jews, Christ preached for three years, He also taught and healed. This is a warning to all and those who fail to listen to His messages. This is a warning to all generations.

Leaders Mistreat God's Messengers: Matthew 21:33-43; Mark 12:1-12; and Luke 20:9-19
Man (Landowner) is representing God the Father- THE VINEYARD is referring to God's people, THE VINEDRESSERS are the leaders of the Jews. EACH SERVANT SENT by the owner is representing OT PROPHETS coming to call the people back to God. THE BELOVED SON is Christ- HE IS CAST OUT OF THE VINEYARD to be killed- means Jesus was killed outside Jerusalem, Jesus was crucified by foreign soldiers, and not by those of His own vineyard. THE OTHERS who later receive the vineyard are the Gentiles being brought into the Church.

Matthew 24:3-35- "The Beginning of Sorrows" "The Great Tribulation" "The End"

Read vv. 3-14 very carefully the beginning of sorrows is a time before the Great Tribulation leading into the Second Coming of Christ. Jesus is coming back at the end of the age, the age of which He was born. All these things mentioned must take place first. The things mentioned have been occurring and will keep occurring, but our world today is different it's more evil than ever before, we must keep watch and be prepared.

The Great Tribulation Matthew 24:15-28
Matthew 24:21-22
 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the [a]elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
We haven't seen anything yet, remember early Christians thought Jesus was coming back sooner.

Matthew 24:29-31 "The End"
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen [a]asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who [b]sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are [c]asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Three signs must take place before the return of our Lord: first the sign spread out in the heavens- The cross and Christ and His hosts. The sign of the trumpet, and the resurrection of the dead. The first century document the DIDACHE list these three signs. We see in Matthew 24 that the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and His angels will gather together the elect- the three signs indicates one solid motion and not broken up in time. The 3 also indicates the Holy Trinity.

Verse 14 also indicates when Jesus returns He's returning with those who have already fallen asleep in the faith and also the dead will rise, indicating the action being performed will take place immediately not over time like some teach.

Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
