B-24 bomber pilot, Richard Carroll was tasked with destroying German arsenal factories over parts of Eastern Europe during WWII. On his 15th mission he was struck by some German flak guns and had to parachute down over farmland in Hungary. Unfortunately, the rural Hungarians were angry and wanted revenge against the Allies for all the bombings that destroyed their property and killed family and friends. Richard was regrettably on the receiving end of their anger.
