GMO or not? Do you think modifying food genes via other methods not considered GMO should be a cause for concern?
Most people don’t realize how heavily modified our food is today
Especially most plant foods
Most wheat grain consumed will not be classified as a GMO, but still be heavily modified by other means. William Davis in Wheat: The Unhealthy Grain explains the long history of wheat grain and how it came to be what it is today.
Spoiler alert, it’s very different than the what being consumed 100 years ago. It’s a completely different food now.
The companies that have seized the food supply have worked long and hard to optimize their grains for yield, survive different conditions, and be resilient towards agrochemicals deployed in agriculture.
Of course if you have access to ancient sprouted grain and such that’s very different from conventional wheat.
This is just one of the reasons why grains today are suspicious.
