Here is a recipe for chicken cheese stuffed pastry:
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
1/4 cup cold water
1 egg, beaten
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
1/2 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the chilled, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the cold water and mix until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, shredded cheese, chopped onion, chopped red bell pepper, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to cut the dough into rounds.
Place a spoonful of the chicken and cheese mixture onto the center of each round.
Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Use a fork to press the edges together and seal the pastry.
Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Note: You can also make these pastries ahead of time and freeze them before baking. When ready to bake, simply place the frozen pastries onto a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
