Dramatically Improve Whitetail Habitat

Another property conversion to premium whitetail deer habitat. These landowners hired me to do a Management Plan and to execute the Plan. Primarily, we will thin the existing pine plantation to get forage and cover to the forest floor where deer need it. Second, we are fixing up a big mess left by the loggers and planting a 2-acre new food plot. Then, we will convert a grass field to food and cover. This will give us 5 acres of food plots, 25 acres of bedding sanctuary with browse. A burn rotation will keep the thinned pines in excellent forage for many years. Having plenty of food and cover on the property will prevent deer from needing to venture out into farm land during shooting light and allow these hunters to control some of the age structure in the neighborhood.
Careful hunting strategies will improve the results on this property.
