Is the Super Mario Bros Movie Great or Terrible?

We just went to the Harvest Moon Twin Drive In theater in Gibson City, IL to see the Super Mario Bros Movie. This is the first time we've been able to get to the Drive In since 2019, but we've had this planned since we heard this movie was coming. What do we think of it? Well, it was amazing!

Music
The music for this movie was phenomenal, and I"m not just talking about the game music. The Licensed Music was great too, from the Beastie Boys to AC/DC. This soundtrack rocks!

Voice Actors
Chris Pratt is going to suck as Mario, we want Charles Martinet! I know many who felt that way, but after seeing it, Chris Pratt nailed it. I'm not a Charlie Day Superfan but he was also perfect as Luigi! I don't know the actress who voiced Peach from anything but she was terrific too. The only weak character IMO was Jack Black as Bowser. He was ok, but the rest of the cast was on another level.

Easter Eggs
So Many EASTER EGGS! Yes, there were blatant things like Mario playing an NES, but the fact that the N64 Controller made an appearance as an island, certain musical queues, just overall it was great. I also thought the dedication to Iwata was amazingly well done and deserved.

Would I recommend
Whole Heartedly, YES YES YES! We're going to pick up the UHD Collector's set for sure. Thank you Illumination and Universal for treating this franchise and source material with the respect it deserved.
