Getting views on YouTube is the modern-day equivalent of fame and fortune
Getting views on YouTube is the modern-day equivalent of fame and fortune. Everyone wants to be a YouTube star, but not everyone has what it takes. It takes more than talent and luck to succeed on YouTube. It takes guts, grit, and a willingness to sell your soul to the algorithm gods.
First of all, you need a niche. You can't just be another faceless vlogger or gamer or makeup artist. You need to find a unique angle, a hook that will reel in the viewers. Maybe you're a vegan bodybuilder who does yoga on a unicycle. Maybe you're a conspiracy theorist who believes that the moon is made of cheese. Maybe you're a clown who reviews horror movies. Whatever it is, it has to be something that no one else is doing or doing as well as you.
Secondly, you need to be consistent. You can't just upload a video whenever you feel like it and expect to build an audience. You need to have a schedule, a plan, a strategy. Maybe you upload every Monday and Thursday. Maybe you do a live stream every Friday. Maybe you release a new video every time you hit a milestone, like 100 subscribers or 1,000 views. Whatever it is, it has to be something that your viewers can count on and look forward to.
Thirdly, you need to be shameless. You can't just upload a video and hope that people will find it. You need to promote it, share it, spam it. You need to beg, borrow, and steal views from your friends, family, and enemies. You need to comment on other people's videos, collaborate with other creators, and join communities. You need to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time, like a ninja with a megaphone.
Lastly, you need to be lucky. You can do everything right, and still, not get the views you deserve. You can pour your heart and soul into a video, and it can get buried in the endless sea of content. You can try every trick in the book, and it can still not be enough. You can have the talent, the charisma, the vision, and it can still not be your time. Luck is the X-factor that separates the winners from the losers, the stars from the wannabes.
In conclusion, getting views on YouTube is a journey, not a destination. It's a marathon, not a sprint. It's a game, not a science. You can learn from others, but you can't copy them. You can follow the rules, but you can't guarantee success. You can be yourself, but you can't control the outcome. You can only do your best, and hope that the universe will reward you with the views, likes, and subscribers you deserve. And if not, well, at least you tried.
