Golden Temple Patan

Golden Temple of Patan Commonly known as Hiranya Varna Mahavihar or Kwa Bahal among the locals, the Golden Temple is a historical Buddhist monastery located to the north of Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur, Nepal. The courtyard architecture-styled temple is decorated with gleaming Buddhist figures inside its premises. The main shrine in the Golden Temple is devoted to Shakyamuni Buddha. Every year, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar assigns twelve locals (one local for each month) to serve Kwabaju, the Shakyamuni Buddha.
