Lots of people hated the end however I as a huge book fan and show fan cheered so loud you could hear it blocks away. Of all the bad decisions in the show and while Jon should of played more of a role he in fact did only its not obvious to see, he stands and faces the dragon drawing its attention away from the walls above so Arya could slip past and into the Godswood.
Arya earned this kill through the entire series and outside of Jon and Dani had the most expansive character arc from season 1-9. This moment , the drop is one of TVs very best ever put on film.
