Absolutely they do. Cats are extremely smart. They will remember whether you gave them food and will return because you helped them when they were hungry.

They will also remember if you were mean to them and will avoid you OR if you were helpful and kind they will visit you again.

I had the honor of feeding a starving cat that came to my back yard each day.

I put food and water out at the same time each day. Then I would sit in a chair way back on my patio and read a book.

I named the cat Misty. And the only thing I said softly to her each day was “Hi Misty, I'm.glad your here”

Then I just sat and read my book quietly.

Misty one day ate then stayed there looking at me and meowing. I got up and walked towards her.and she started walking.ahead of me.

She took me to a large group.of bushes and in the middle of it was a soft covering of grass. I told her I was honored she showed me where she lived. It was perfect for her.

Not long after that when I was sitting and talking to her when she arrived….she ran up to me and jumped in my lap. She was my first cat that I loved and made a part of my family.

A very sweet affectionate cat that had obviously been abused. I knew by certain movements I made when doing something that she would get scared and hide. I was careful not to use those movements with her. Not long after she wasn't afraid.of anything with me. It was just total trust and love for both of us.

If you have stray cats be kind and feed and water them.

Just like humans….sometimes.they have been treated badly and need a person to help them with a lot of kindness and caring.

They will return that love to.you 🐈 ❤️
