Earl Sweatshirt who chose his rap name simply because it made him laugh and is perhaps a nod to another artist James Pants. He was previously posting his work to MySpace under the name Sly Tendancies, that was before Tyler The Creator discovered him and invited him into Odd Future Wolf Gang K1ll Them All. But Earl’s rap career was put on hold at 18 when his mother shipped him off to a Samoa boarding school to have his bad behavior whipped out of him, a school where he couldn’t even P33 without supervision.
