2nd in our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. Like Precious Faith - 2 Peter 1:1
* A. The linch pin of the Christian faith - 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
* 1. The basic essentials of the Gospel
* a. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ
* b. Evidence for the Resurrection is the multitude of eyewitnesses - 500 at one time
* 2. The resurrection of Jesus Christ presupposes that the dead can rise -  1 Corinthians 15:12-16
* a. Why would anyone dispute that resurrection from the dead can actually occur?
* b. Knowing the terror of the Lord - 2 Corinthians 5:11
* B. The resurrection is not optional - 1 Corinthians 15:17-23; 49-53 

II. The Difference Resurrection Hope makes in the life of true disciples of Jesus Christ - 1 Corinthians 15:54-58
* A. Confidence that immortality is available but not through human technology, manipulation, body part transplants
* B. Resurrection only comes through faith in Jesus Christ
* 1. Christ’s victory over sin and death assures us that our victory comes through union with Him
* 2. We rejoice in resurrection hope, 
* 3. We give thanks to God for the victory already won as well as the victory yet to come
* C. The Four results of Resurrection faith
* 1. Steadfast
* 2. Immovable
* 3. Always abounding in the work our Lord has given us to do in this world
* 4. Knowing our labor is never in vain
