Desmond Ridder is heading into the NFL 2023 Training camp as the Atlanta Falcons Starting quarterback. At the NFL owner's meetings, Head Coach Arthur Smith shared that Ridder would start training camp as QB1. Smith stated "The plan is to start Desmond," He said. "That's our plan going forward right now." Desmond Ridder was drafted by The Falcons as the number 74 overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL draft. He played for the University of Cincinnati and started all 4 seasons while being with the Bearcats. Ridder had 50 starts at Cincinnati with a 44 and 6 record, Throwing For 10,239 yards, 87 touchdowns, And 28 interceptions. Ridder did play his rookie season finished out the last 4 games of the season and went 2 and 2 by beating Tampa Bay and Arizona But did lose His first 2 starts Against New Orleans and the Ravens. In the 4 starts, he had a 63.5 Completion rate passing for 708 yards with 2 touchdowns, and no Interceptions But Did Fumble 3 times While rushing the ball For only 64 yards on 16 Attempts And zero touchdowns.
