Ishtar is an ancient Mesopotamian goddess of fertility, love, war, and sex. She was worshipped by the Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians, among other ancient cultures, and was considered one of the most important deities in their pantheons. In Babylonian mythology, Ishtar was associated with the planet Venus and was believed to be responsible for the cycles of the seasons and the growth of crops. She was often depicted as a powerful and alluring woman, sometimes accompanied by lions, and was revered for her beauty, strength, and wisdom.
