Tarry With Me

Family of God! Prayer, personal relationship with God is such a needed thing in times such as these. It is a stormy season as the biggest storms of our lives are on the horizon of our culture of all of our nations. Tarry With God! Spend time with God! It is the best choice we can make as individuals and as a family. The family that prays together, stays together with God and each other and are not derailed by the prevalent deception of our time. My mom and dad used to say that and they lived by it.

We were created with that inner spiritual core need to commune with God, it is part of our spiritual DNA. We need God, we need to be in relationship with Him. Life is better for us and for our family, when we “tarry with God”! We see this clearly in one part of the Bible during Holy Week, right before the biggest trial of Jesus’s life, He asked His family, His disciples to stay up and pray with Him for an hour. He asked them three different times. They were so compassionate fatigued from all the events of the week that they just wanted to sleep.

Yes, sleep is good for you, but when Jesus quickens your heart that you need to pray, yield to the sleep and get up and pray with Jesus. Jesus knew what was ahead for his earthly family and He knew that they would need the inner spiritual strength more than they needed sleep. The storm was upon them and Jesus knew they needed time with Him, to pray and to ask for God’s strength. The storm is upon us, and upon our families and now, more than ever we need to “tarry with Jesus” and pray, pray for our families, pray for strength, pray for direction , pray for provision, pray to be equipped with every thing we need for the turbulent times ahead. Jesus knows and He knows we need to “tarry with Him” so our family can thrive during these cultural storms ahead as we connect with Jesus, Heart To Heart in prayer and personal relationship.

Dig Deeper:
He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be done.” So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things again. Then he came to the disciples and said, “Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest. But look—the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Up, let’s be going. Look, my betrayer is here!” A little later some of the other bystanders came over to Peter and said, “You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent.” Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed. Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.'

They were in the upper room.... frightened and afraid... maybe they should have told the enemy of their soul to SHUT UP... and maybe they should have rehearsed the truth they knew... https://thebridegroomscafe.com/shut-up/
