Cowboy Saved From Sheer Disaster at Good Friday Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, TX — On Good Friday, two of the best things about Easter Weekend were the good Lord's blessings on the 6th Performance of the San Angelo Rodeo and the Pickup Men.

The craziness began in the Bareback Riding. Bradlee Miller was on the back of "Night Belle" and just could not seem to find his way off the horse. With his hand stuck in the rigging, "Night Belle" drug him around the ring like the world's worst carousel. Luckily, the Pickup men saved the day and helped the cowboy off.

Events continued this trend in the Steer Wrestling. Buffalo, Texas Cowboy Dakota Champion took the leap of faith toward his steer, but an unlucky heel lodged itself firmly in his stirrup. Champion's horse drug the cowboy the length of the Coliseum before the Pickup men showed up once again to save the day.

Luckily, there were no accidents in the Mutton Bustin' on Friday night. In fact, Miyah Haven from Bonham Elementary School achieved the highest score on the back of a sheep so far in the entire rodeo. After covering the entire length of the floor, Haven achieved a score of 90 points. San Angelo LIVE!'s Matt Trammell caught up with Miyah, and guess what? It was her first time to ever ride a sheep. It's the Mutton Bustin' presented by Sonora Bank.
