Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe train ahead of Nice clash as PSG president watches on

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe trained with PSG on Friday ahead of their Ligue 1 clash with Nice on Saturday.

The star duo were put through their paces under the eye of PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi, who was accompanied on the training pitch by advisor Luis Campos and spoke with manager Christophe Galtier.

Messi's time with PSG looks increasingly like it will be over by the summer, with the World Cup winner's contract talks stalled and fans starting to turn against the 35-year-old.

Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona or move to Italy, but it's understood he is not considering playing in Saudi Arabia or the USA.

PSG is reportedly looking to focus on young French players, rather than superstar signings, which may also see Neymar, whose contract expires in 2025, depart the club.

Kylian Mbappe ticks the boxes as being young and French, but his displeasure with the club became apparent this week when he publicly lashed PSG for using clips from one of his interviews in a promotional video.

PSG is understood to be working to resolve the issue internally, but Mbappe says he is fighting for individual image rights and doesn't want PSG to be known as Kylian Saint-Germain.
