LIVE: Pension reform protests continue in Paris

Live from Paris on Thursday, April 6 for the latest rally against the government’s pension reforms. Thousands are expected to attend the march, starting from Les Invalides and ending at Place d’Italie. It comes following weeks of huge demonstrations across the country, after President Emmanuel Macron’s administration decided to force through his pension changes without a vote in the National Assembly. More protests are expected nationwide over both the rise in retirement age, from 62 to 64, and the use of the executive powers. Violent clashes between protesters and police have drawn concerns from the Council of Europe’s human rights commissioner.
