In June 2019 I finished my work on researching Colin Dryden and putting together an album of my recordings of his songs, and the songs he sang:

I left this song off the album, as the subject matter felt a bit too personnel, and I'm not 100% sure that Colin wrote it (though to me it sounds like his voice). After finally presenting my research at the National Folklore Conference yesterday, it felt like time to have a go at recording this song.

The presentation I gave was a little bitter-sweet yesterday, as I'm now up to six rejections by the National Folk Festival artistic committee. Back when Colin performed at these festivals they were inclusive, now they seem elitist.

With many people who knew Colin were at the event yesterday, so there is also the chance of some additional material coming to light.
