Taipei 101 is home to offices, restaurants, and observation decks. The indoor observatory is located on the 89th floor and offers panoramic views of Taipei City and the surrounding mountains. There is also an outdoor observatory on the 91st floor, which is accessible by a high-speed elevator that travels at a speed of 60.6 km/h (37.7 mph).

The building also features a tuned mass damper, which is the largest in the world. The damper helps to stabilize the building during earthquakes and strong winds.
