Vin Diesel or Mark Sinclair as his mama calls him was born along with his twin brother Paul to a single mother in California. He was raised in New York City by his mother and step father who was an acting coach and stage manager. Vin was introduced to acting at a young age, not through his step father but after being caught breaking into a theater.

PERHAPS THERE IS A MORE SUITABLE CLIP?

After majoring in English at Hunter College, Vin began to act in films while writing producing directing his own on the side.

His short film Multi-Facial went to the Cannes film festival where it gained notice from Steve Spielberg leading Vin to be cast as Private Caparzo in Saving Private Ryan.

After that, the doors were opened and opportunities came rolling in. Within two years Vin would play The Iron giant, a slick stockbroker in Boiler Room and Riddick in Pitch Black and we all know what came after that.
