Ethereum is set to get its second major upgrade in 8 months. It's happening on April 12 and It’s a big deal. The last upgrade, The Merge, was considered a milestone in crypto history and attracted coverage from just about every major publication in the U.S. and watch parties around the world.

The upcoming Shapella upgrade will likely draw less fanfare, but it’s no less important — it essentially finishes the work that began with The Merge by allowing users to withdraw Ether which they’d locked up to secure the network.
