DePauw University President Russell J. Humbert served as host on April 16, 1961, as Indianapolis NBC affiliate WFBM-TV broadcast a program, 'The Church and The Campus'. The half-hour show was aired to mark National Christian College Day. It included remarks from Dr. Humbert, as well as performances by the DePauw Choir, under the direction of Professor George Gove, and a scene from 'The Merchant of Venice' with DePauw junior Herman Poppe portraying Shylock.

Also seen and heard on the telecast were E.K. Williams, professor of English at DePauw, and Richard Schaefer, a senior from Dayton, Ohio.

Additionally, Paul Tan, a graduate student in the DePauw University School of Music, performed two Indonesian folk songs.
